Federal Grants

Federal Grants are awarded based solely on financial need. Grants do not have to be repaid unless, for example, you are awarded funds incorrectly, did not complete attendance requirements, etc.

  • Pell Grants (PELL) - Federal Pell grants are offered by the Office of Federal Student Aid which is a part of the U.S. Department of Education. Only undergraduate students who demonstrate exceptional financial need and do not already hold a bachelor's, graduate, or professional degree are typically eligible for federal Pell Grants.
  • Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) - Undergraduate students who exhibit significant financial need may be eligible for the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), which is given to assist in paying for education.

State Grants

  • Florida Student Assistant Grant (FSAG) - The Florida Student Assistance Grant (FSAG) is available to degree-seeking, Florida resident, undergraduate students who demonstrate substantial financial need. Due to funding being limited, this grant is distributed on a first-come-first-served basis, based on the early completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Florida Public Postsecondary Career Education Student Assistant Grant Program (FSAGCE) - The Florida Career Education Student Assistance Grant (FSAG-CE) is a need-based state grant, created to assist degree-seeking, Florida resident, undergraduate students enrolled in certificate programs of 450 or more clock hours.
  • First Generation Matching Grant (FGMG) – Undergraduate degree-seeking students in qualified participating postsecondary institutions who can show they have a significant financial need may apply for this need-based grant program.  The parent(s) of eligible students must not have a baccalaureate degree or higher.
  • Open Door Grant – The Open Door Grant Program is a financial aid program for students at a Florida College Systems institution to incentivize current and future workers to enroll in career and technical education programs that lead to a credential, certificate or degree.
