Get Ready to Start Classes

  • Florida Residency Declaration: Submit residency declaration to the Office of Registration and Records as soon as possible to be considered for in-state tuition rate (70% less than out-of-state).
  • College Transcripts (Transfer Students Only): All college transcripts must be received and evaluated by Admissions before advising, registration, and the award of financial aid can occur. Transcripts should be submitted to Office of Administration, 149 SE College Place, Lake City, FL 32025.
  • Financial Aid: Students seeking financial aid are encouraged to apply for aid early via the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This application is also required for FGC’s Foundation Scholarships, therefore critical for accessing financial resources.
    • Application is free! www.studentaid.gov | FGC School Code: 001501
  • Advising: All new or returning students are required to meet with an academic advisor prior to registration. Advisors will guide you on selecting the right classes for your program of study.
  • New Student Orientation: NSO is offered in-person on three different dates prior to the semester start. It’s also offered online in your canvas (My Courses) account. It’s the best way to get familiar with FGC!
  • Accessiblity Services: Students who believe they may need disability-related accommodations must disclose their disability to the Office of Accessibility Services and complete the accommodation request process in order to receive accommodations. Disclosure is voluntary; however, accommodations cannot be provided unless a student has identified themselves to the Office of Accessibility Services and provided appropriate documentation as required. The Office of Accessibility Services works to ensure students with disabilities have equal access to educational opportunities and programs. Student disability-related information is maintained as confidential in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. For more information, contact the Coordinator of Accessibility Services located in Building 14, Room 102.
