LAKE CITY, Fla. – Florida Gateway College Men’s Basketball are NJCAA Region VIII Division II Conference Champions. The Timberwolves took on the Bobcats of rival Pasco-Hernando State College on Saturday, Feb. 26, in the Howard Center and came out with an 84-67 win.

This is the Timberwolves’ third Conference Championship win in four years since the return of the program in the 2018-19 season. Head Coach Charles Ruise is proud of his players and excited for what another title means for the future of the program.

“It’s a great feeling,” Coach Ruise said. “It gives us the opportunity to continue to grow and head the program in the right direction and keep improving our recruitment. It gives us exposure so that players coming out of high school see that FGC is playing at the same high level as other schools they may be looking at. Our success is helping us establish a national presence.”

The Wolves move on to face the Fayetteville Tech Trojans at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, at Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina. They will play for the South Atlantic District B Championship and a bid to the NJCAA DII Men’s Basketball National Tournament at the Mary Miller Center in Danville, Illinois, March 15-19.
