May 17, 2023 FGC Flag Football Heading to Atlanta for NJCAA National Tournament Share Share this post Twitter Facebook eMail Copy URL Copy LAKE CITY, Fla. – Florida Gateway College Flag Football will cap off its inaugural season with a trip to Atlanta and a play for the NJCAA National Championship Title in the 2023 Women’s Flag Final. The tournament will be held May 18-20 in Atlanta at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the 71,000-seat home stadium of the Atlanta Falcons. “We are very excited and honored to be representing FGC in Atlanta with an opportunity to compete for an NJCAA flag football national championship,” said head coach Ricky Hufty. “We have a great group of players that have given everything they have all year to be in this position, and I am excited for them to have this opportunity. “We will try to finish the journey we set out on the way back in August.” FGC Flag Football kicked off its inaugural season, the first-ever for the sport at FGC, in February of this year with a shutout double-header, 51-0 and 34-0. Since then, the team has continued to dominate, finishing regular-season play with a record of 10-1.
