LAKE CITY, Fla. – Florida Gateway College Women’s Softball is headed to the 2025 Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) DII Softball Region 8 Championship Tournament. Four teams from around the state will gather in Palatka, Florida, where St. Johns River State College will host the showdown May 1-3.
The Timberwolves will take on the No. 1 seed and tournament host St. Johns River in the first match-up of the tournament at 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 1.

The tournament comes on the heels of FGC Softball’s second season since the program was reinstated in 2023 under the leadership of Head Coach Jimmy Williams. The Wolves wrapped up regular season play with their 30th win of the year, a 7-2 home victory over No. 16 in the nation, Lake-Sumter State College, their first win over a top-20 team.
