LAKE CITY, Fla. – Florida Gateway College’s Nursing Program has received a generous donation of clinical training equipment from the Lake Shore Hospital Authority (LSHA). This obstetrics and neonatal training equipment will transform the learning experience for FGC nursing students by allowing them to practice maternal and newborn care in a realistic, hands-on environment before ever stepping into a real clinical setting.

Simulation-based learning plays a crucial role in developing the confidence, critical thinking, and clinical skills that patients depend on. This newly donated industry-grade equipment will elevate that training to a new level.

Equipment donated by the LSHA:

  • 2 labor and delivery beds
  • 2 fetal monitoring stations
  • 5 radiant warmers
  • 1 isolette (incubator)
  • 1 fetal doppler
  • 1 infant scale

“Partnerships like this one with Lake Shore Hospital Authority are at the heart of what makes our programs strong,” said Ann Brown, FGC Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences. “When healthcare organizations invest in nursing education, they are investing in the future of their own workforce and the health of our entire community. We are proud to call LSHA our partners and deeply thankful to the trustees for their generosity.”

Together with community partners like the LSHA, FGC continues its mission to provide state-of-the-art educational opportunities to its students, enriching the workforce and well-being of the communities it serves.
