Environmental Science Technology, Associate of Science (A.S.)
The Environmental Science Technology (ENST) program is designed for individuals wishing to enter the field of environmental science as well as those seeking to begin or advance their careers in water and wastewater treatment. This program serves to implement and maintain a high-quality instructional curriculum, cultivate the development of the student, and enhance the community by providing knowledgeable and skilled graduates into the workforces of which we serve. We do this by imparting knowledge in the subject areas of water/wastewater treatment, environmental sampling and analysis, hydrology, pollution control, and many more. Students with current water and wastewater treatment operator licenses may articulate experiential learning for college credit.

Students must demonstrate competence in reading, math, or language through placement examination or by passing the appropriate reading, math or language courses, if not exempt by state board of education rule 6A-10.0315. A student who does not achieve minimum scores will be required to take developmental educations classes in English, math, reading, and SLS 1501 the College Experience.

In addition, to initiating or advancing careers as water and wastewater treatment operators, graduates can work for private companies as well as local,state, and federal agencies as environmental sampling technicians, water analysis,monitoring technicians, and more.
Students must have a high school diploma or GED® certificate and take a placement exam, if not exempt by the State Board of Education Rule 6A-10.0315.
