FGC’s Spring Commencement Ceremony will take place on May 3th, 2019 at 10AM and 1:30PM.


When/Where do I get my cap and gown?

Order cap and gown in the Bookstore Monday – Friday between 8 am and 4:30 pm.

Cost is 43.00 — Deadline to order is April 1st

You may pick up your cap and gown at the bookstore between the hours of 8 am and 4:30 pm during the week of April 22nd.

Who is eligible?

Students who submit a graduation application for Spring 2019 to the Office of Enrollment Services by the March 14, 2019 deadline.

How do I submit a graduation application?

Meet with your advisor to ensure your programs requirements will be met by the end of Spring 2019. You will complete your graduation application at the appointment, have it signed by your advisor, and then submit it to Enrollment Services in Building 15. Your advisor will ask if you plan to walk in the ceremony and indicate your participation on the graduation application prior to submission.

**Your graduation application must be received in Enrollment Services by the published deadline of March 14, 2019 for your name to be included in the printed commencement program.** Schedule an appointment to meet with your advisor before the deadline.

Graduation tickets

There will be 6 TICKETS per student for Graduation. They can be picked up with your cap and gown. Overflow for the Commencement Ceremony will be the in the Levy Performing Arts Center.


10:00 A.M. Ceremony

  1. Ceremony will honor Bachelor and AA Graduates
  2. 8:30 – 9:30 am – Students are to report to the Library for line up
  3. 8:30 am – Seating in the Howard Center may begin.  Doors close at 9:45 am.  No one is permitted into the Howard Center without a ticket (already given out to the students when they pick up their cap and gown).  Live streaming will occur in the PAC only for overflow.
  4. 9:45 am – Faulty and Staff and students will proceed to the Howard Center for processional.
  5. 10 am – Processional begins into the Howard Center and you will be seated row by row.
  6. 12 Noon – Recessional begins.

1:30 P.M. Ceremony

  1. Ceremony will honor AS, ATD, and Certificate Graduates
  2. 12:00 Noon – 1:00 pm – Students are to report to the Library for line up
  3. 12 Noon – Seating in the Howard Center may begin.  Doors close at 1:15 pm.  No one is permitted into the Howard Center without a ticket (already given out to the students when they pick up their cap and gown).  Live streaming will occur in the PAC only for overflow.
  4. 1:15 pm – Faulty and Staff and students will proceed to the Howard Center for processional.
  5. 1:30 pm – Processional begins into the Howard Center
  6. 3:00 pm – Recessional begins.
