FGC’s Spring Commencement Ceremony will take place on May 1st, 2020 at 10AM and 1:30PM.

Who is eligible?

Students who submit a graduation application for Spring or Summer 2020 to the Office of Enrollment Services by the March 12, 2020 deadline.

How do I submit a graduation application?

On track to graduate this May?! 🎓 Submit your graduation application by March 12th & also order your cap, gown and tassel in the bookstore by Mar.13th! Cap, gown and tassel will be $36+tax. 🙌

Meet with your advisor to ensure your programs requirements will be met by the end of Spring 2020. You will complete your graduation application at the appointment, have it signed by your advisor, and then submit it to Enrollment Services in Building 15. Your advisor will ask if you plan to walk in the ceremony and indicate your participation on the graduation application prior to submission.

**Your graduation application must be received in Enrollment Services by the published deadline of March 12, 2020 for your name to be included in the printed commencement program.** Schedule an appointment to meet with your advisor before the deadline.

Graduation Application Form


10 am Ceremony

  1. Ceremony will honor Bachelor and AA Graduates
  2. 8:30 – 9:30 am – Students are to report to the Library for line up
  3. 8:30 am – Seating in the Howard Center may begin.  Doors close at 9:45 am.  No one is permitted into the Howard Center without a ticket (already given out to the students when they pick up their cap and gown).  Live streaming will occur in the PAC only for overflow.
  4. 9:15 am – Faulty and Staff report to the Library, room 102 for line up
  5. 9:45 am – Faulty and Staff and students will proceed to the Howard Center for processional.  Faculty/Staff Marshals will lead you straight out of the library, across the bridge then left down the sidewalk toward the Howard Center.  Students will follow you, led by Student Marshals.
  6. 10 am – Processional begins into the Howard Center and you will be seated row by row.  A ceremony agenda will be provided for you on your seat.
  7. 12 Noon (maybe earlier) – Recessional begins.  The Platform party will go first then Faculty/Staff Marshals will lead their rows out behind them.  Then each row will leave after the row in front of you.  Please follow the platform party out of the Howard Center to the left then left down the sidewalk toward the Gateway Grill for the student congratulations tunnel. Students will follow in the same manner.
  8. Staff will clear the Howard Center, immediately and chairs in the back will be brought up.

1:30 pm Ceremony

  1. Ceremony will honor AS, ATD, and Cert Graduates
  2. 12:00 Noon – 1:00 pm – Students are to report to the Library for line up
  3. 12 Noon – Seating in the Howard Center may begin.  Doors close at 1:15 pm.  No one is permitted into the Howard Center without a ticket (already given out to the students when they pick up their cap and gown).  Live streaming will occur in the PAC only for overflow.
  4. 12:45 pm – Faulty and Staff report to the Library, room 102 for line up
  5. 1:15 pm – Faulty and Staff and students will proceed to the Howard Center for processional.  Faculty/Staff Marshals will lead you straight out of the library, across the bridge then left down the sidewalk toward the Howard Center.  Students will follow you, led by Student Marshals.
  6. 1:30 pm – Processional begins into the Howard Center and you will be seated row by row.  A ceremony agenda will be provided for you on your seat.
  1. 3:00 pm (maybe earlier) – Recessional begins.  The Platform party will go first then Faculty/Staff Marshals will lead their rows out behind them.  Then each row will leave after the row in front of you.  Please follow the platform party out of the Howard Center to the left then left down the sidewalk toward the Gateway Grill for the student congratulations tunnel.   1. Staff will clear the Howard Center
  2. Please return your academic regalia in its original packaging that has your name on it, immediately after the ceremony in the Bookstore.  This is the method the rental company uses to verify all returns.
