Automatic refunds for college credit or vocational credit course fees will not be processed until after the last day to drop a course. To be eligible for a refund, the student must drop the course(s) on or before the last day of the Add/Drop period, as listed on the Academic Calendar. Students can drop classes on their MyFGC. Paper forms are also available from the Enrollment Services Office.

Matriculation, tuition, and lab fees paid during scheduled registration periods are automatically refundable based on the following:

Fall, Spring, and Summer Terms

If the drop procedure is completed by the established deadline published in that term’s critical dates calendar, tuition fees are refunded at 100%. If you have not received a refund for courses that were dropped by the established deadline within five weeks from the first day of class, please contact your campus cashier.

Non-Credit Courses

If the drop procedure is completed at least three working days before the start of the class, tuition and fees will be refunded at 100%. No refunds will be issued after that period unless the course is canceled by the college.

Methods of Refunds

In efforts to better serve students and “Go Green,” Florida Gateway College now offers a direct deposit option for student refunds. Students may fill out a direct deposit form and return it to the Cashier’s Office (Building 15). Students will need to attach a voided check to the form. If the student does not have a check, they may obtain a letter from their bank with their banking information (routing and account numbers) and name on the letter to attach to the form in lieu of a voided check.

Students who do not turn in a form for direct deposit, will be mailed a paper check to their mailing address on file by default.

Time Frames for Refunds

Refunds for self-pay students who have dropped their classes or made changes to their schedules that require a refund are typically processed approximately two weeks after the last day of the Add/Drop period. Students paying by check must wait at least 14 days from the receipt of the check before a refund can be issued.

Financial Aid refunds are processed and issued 30-45 business days from the first day of classes each term.

Refunds of $5.00 or Less

Florida Gateway College will not issue a refund in the amount of $5.00 or less.
