Meet your Advisors!

Dr. Toni Briley serves as an Academic Advisor at Florida Gateway College and has been advising undergraduate students for over 15 years. She is a PhD graduate of Capella University earning her doctorate in Human Services with specialization in Criminal Justice.  She earned both a Masters and Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Troy University. Dr. Briley is also an adjunct professor for Florida Gateway College and Saint Leo University where she has taught in the disciplines of Psychology and Criminal Justice for over 20 years, teaching on-ground, online and virtual courses, in both Undergraduate and Masters Programs.  Before joining Florida Gateway College, she worked with juvenile delinquents and incarcerated youthful offenders as a probation officer and later as an education counselor.   Dr. Briley currently serves on the Community Relations Committee at Lake City Correctional Facility and volunteers as a mentor in Florida Gateway College’s Board of Trustees Scholarship Program.  She also serves on the Board of Directors as Vice President for New Generation Christian School of Live Oak.  Dr. Briley enjoys traveling and is an avid Elvis Presley fan (have you seen her office?).  She also enjoys Gator and Cowboys football as well as Braves baseball.

Jonny has been an academic adviser at FGC for two years.

He has a professional background in pharmacy healthcare and served in the Marine Corps from 2000 to 2006.  He graduated from the Baptist College of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Leadership in 2007.  In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, volunteering at his church, cooking, and woodworking.

Kelly Sistrunk is a Lake City native and graduated from Florida Gateway College in 2007 with her A.A. degree as part of the Dual Enrollment program.  She transferred to the University of Florida and earned a Bachelor of Science in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences in 2009.  In 2012, she earned a Master of Education in School Counseling from Valdosta State University.  In her spare time, Kelly enjoys spending time with friends and family.  She is an avid Florida Gators football fan and loves Disney World.  Kelly’s favorite part of being an advisor is assisting students with their Personal Education Plans and transfer planning.

Nicole White is a Florida native who earned her BA in History from UF and her MA in Counseling from Columbia International University. She enjoys checking off her travel bucket list, time with family, buying way too many cute coffee mugs and running on campus.
