High School Senior Guide to FGC

Apply for Admission – Free!

High School Transcript
  • After graduation, send official high school transcript to Enrollment Services, Florida Gateway College, 149 SE College Place, Lake City, FL 32025. If you had official transcripts sent directly to you, do not open them. You will need to send the official transcript, in the unopened envelope, to Enrollment Services through the U.S. mail.
  • Plan to start in Summer B 2023 (high school transcript may not be ready for Summer A registration) or Fall 2023
  • If your high school credential was earned outside of the United States, a high school equivalency report from a NACES-approved evaluation service is required.  Contact Enrollment Services for more information.
Start the Financial Aid Process now

Once the 24-25 FAFSA becomes available in December 2023, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) whether you think you are eligible or not. Many scholarship opportunities at FGC require a completed FAFSA. Check this step off your list as early as possible, as this may be completed prior to admission. Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov

FGC school code: 001501. Visit Financial Aid for more information.

Why is the 24-25 FAFSA not available until December 2023? Click here for the details.

If you’re looking for scholarships that can follow you to FGC or your college of choice, here are a few scholarship services you may want to try. FGC has tons of institutional scholarship opportunities for our students, but we know your path may take you to another college, which we applaud and wish you the best. Easily find scholarship matches and submit applications for thousands of dollars at  Fast web Scholarships, Scholly (requires paid subscription) and Florida Student Scholarship Grant Programs (for in-state schools).

Board of Trustees Scholarhship

Incoming seniors from Columbia, Ft. White, Baker, Union, Dixie, Trenton and Bell High schools! Submit your application by March 15, 2024. Scholarship covers tuition for one program of study for up to 2 years (12 credits x 4 semesters).

  • Students must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher is required to apply (final HS transcripts will be required before scholarship award can be placed on a student account)
  • Students must maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA at FGC to remain eligible
  • Must be enrolled at FGC full-time each semester, 12 credits or more in fall and spring
  • Volunteer participation in FGC’s student ambassador organization
  • 2 letters of recommendation (non-family member) and 500 word personal essay
Proof of Residency

This requirement allows you to be considered for in-state tuition rates. You may complete this step when you apply for admission by submitting the residency form and documents. Proving residency reduces your tuition by over 70%. For example, a 3 credit class will cost $310 instead of $1,175.

Residency declaration and supporting documentation may be submitted to Enrollment Services through mail, email, or fax.  Mailing address: Enrollment Services, Florida Gateway College, 149 SE College Place, Lake City, FL 32025.  Email address: enrollment.services@fgc.edu.  Fax: 386-754-4581.

FGC is now offering reduced tuition (in-state tuition plus only 5%) to residents of over 90 Georgia Counties. View the Residency Request for Georgia Differential Out-of-State Fee for eligible counties.
