I have been a registered nurse for over 31 years and I have worked in all areas of nursing in acute care, long-term care, and community health. I have provided care for patients and families across the life span. I have a passion for education and particularly nursing education! As a result, I have developed and taught numerous courses for pre and post licensure nursing programs. I have also led and directed various undergraduate nursing programs nationally and internationally. My goal is to contribute to the nursing workforce by providing nurses with quality education, so that they are equipped with the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to address present and future healthcare challenges. I want to educate nurses who will provide patient-centered and compassionate care. Nurses who will listen to the patient and family with the awareness that the patient and/or family are in charge of the patient’s care. On a personal note, I enjoy spending time with my family. I also enjoy learning about other cultures and their practices. I enjoy watching “Everybody Loves Raymond,” “The Golden Girls,” and “The Big Bang Theory” for entertainment.. For spiritual enrichment, I enjoy listening to and watching “Joel Osteen.”
