On Tuesday, November 28th the world will participate in #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. The concept is to give, plain and simple, whether it’s time, donation or your voice!
In 2016, #GivingTuesday broke a record with $168 million in charitable donations worldwide.
In 2017, in honor of FGC’s 70th Anniversary, The Foundation for Florida Gateway College has set a goal of raising $7,000 on Tuesday November 28th for #GivingTuesday. This year would also have been the 100th birthday of one the College’s Founders, J.Y. Wilson. In honor of this occasion, J.Y.’s family has established the “J.Y. Wilson #GivingTuesday Matching Fund.” This program will match dollar for dollar the first $7,000 raised on #GivingTuesday to help us reach our goal.
Join us on November 28th through various activities and/or events!
From 12 am – 11:59 pm our community members, staff, faculty and students can give one-time monetary donations online at www.fgc.edu/givingtuesday
From 9 am – 3 pm we will have fun games, food and opportunities to win prizes in Pine Square.
$5.00 entrance fee and you will receive 1 food ticket and 5 opportunity tickets. Opportunity tickets can be used on a chance to win various prizes like gift baskets, gift cards and movie tickets all donated from our wonderful college and community families! In addition, we will have various games set up with free play. Additional opportunity tickets can be purchased for $1.00 apiece.
From 11 am – 12 Noon Pie in President Barrett’s Face!!
From 8 am – 4:30 pm you can purchase 50/50 opportunity tickets! We will announce the winning ticket at the end of the day.
