Open House

Open House is offered once a year during the fall semester. The event is open to prospective students and their families and friends, as well as community members. Faculty and staff from all areas of campus come together to provide a program that includes the following

  • Presentation on enrollment process
  • Interactive Campus Tour
  • Session on paying for college
  • Academic, enrollment and student services department fair
  • A chance to win one of two $500 tuition giveaways

One-Stop Enrollment Day

One-Stop Enrollment Day is offered once every semester (fall, spring and summer). This is a day where new and returning students can drop-in and complete their enrollmnet process in one day at one location. Whether you need to get started or finish your enrollment at FGC, our staff will be available to help you:

  • Apply for admissions
  • Apply for financial aid
  • Complete placement testing
  • Receive academic advising
  • Register for classes
  • Pay your tuition bill or sign up for the payment plan
  • Tour campus
  • Obtain your student ID
  • Learn more about campus services like TRIO and tutoring

College Night

FGC hosts this annual event as part of the Florida College Tour, where colleges and universities across the southeast participate. The event is open to everyone and provides the opportunity for individuals to connect with representatives from many different colleges, including FGC’s faculty and staff. College Night typically occurs at the end of August each year.

Why: Our recruitment staff will be doing a presentation about FGC and college to adult education students.

 

September 21 from 4pm to 6pm

What: Tri-County Baby Shower

Where: Dixie District School Board Room; 823 SE Hwy 349, Bldg. 16, Old Town

Why:  This event will promote prenatal and infant health care, prenatal nutrition, breastfeeding, and avoidance of substance use, as well as teach skills in parent and infant safety, and increase knowledge of community resources.

 

September 26 from 6pm to 8pm

What: Junior and Senior Parent Night

Where: New Generation Christian School

Who: New Generation student and parents

Why:  New Generation will be talking to parents and students about college processes and about what to do to get into college.

 

September 28 at 4pm and at 7pm

What: Columbia High School Dual Enrollment Meeting

Where: Columbia High School Auditorium

Who:  Columbia High School students and their parents

Why: This will be an informational meeting for students and parents who want to begin in the dual enrollment program for the first time.

Who: Columbia High School Students

Why: This is a college and career fair to give CHS students a chance to explore their various postsecondary options.

Who: Belmont Academy students and their parent

Why:  This will be an informational meeting for students and parents who want to begin in the dual enrollment program for the first time.

What: Education Fair

Where: Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Georgia

Who:  For current military and civilian population as well as military dependents

Why: This is an education fair, which will feature many institutions for people to come and explore various options regarding their education.

Who: Fort White High School Students

Why: This is a college and career fair to give FWHS students a chance to explore their postsecondary options.
