Statement of Purpose:

          The purposes of the College Senate are to provide a means by which the membership
may participate with the administration in the formulation and implementation of policies and
procedures for the College; to promote cooperation for improvement of the College and
community; to provide a medium through which solutions to college related problems may be
found; to provide opportunities for self-development and the exercise of initiative and leadership;
to stimulate professional enthusiasm and spirit; and to examine issues of joint concern and to
recommend actions to the College President.

Over the last several years the College Senate has implemented the following improvements:

  • Facilitating focus groups for climate surveys
  • Better lighting in parking lots
  • Security stickers on each telephone
  • Baby Changing Stations in designated bathrooms
  • Improved campus map with emergency call boxes marked
  • Parking decals for students and faculty
  • More to list & more to come
