Health Information Technology
The Health Information Technology program is an Associate in Science degree designed to prepare the graduate to work with and manage protected health information in a variety of settings. Health Information Technicians collect, organize and analyze data. Most professionals working in Health Information Technology work in healthcare facilities, but some work for insurance companies or government agencies, coding and compiling data used for analysis and research. A criminal background check is required prior to starting the Internship course. Students must attain a minimum grade of C in all required courses.
The associate degree Health Information Management program is in Candidacy Status, pending accreditation review by the Joint Commission of Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).
