Florida Child Care Professional Credential

The Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC) is a DCF issued credential designed for students who are interested in working with children birth to age 5. Students will gain an understanding of how to work with each of these unique years of development. They will learn about developmentally appropriate classrooms and their responsibilities for providing these children a foundation on which to grow and continue developing.

Graduates of this program have a variety of career position opportunities, including working with children in Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) and those of infant or toddler age. Students may also become Preschool Teachers after graduation.

Admission Requirements

To be officially considered for this program, a student must have a high school diploma or GED certificate and submit an application to FGC.

The courses included in the Florida Child Care Professional Credential are CHD 1220, EEC 1001, and EEC 2300. These 9 hours cannot be a combination of 9 Personal Enrichment hours; they must be the approved DCF courses.
