The Associate Degree in Nursing Program at Florida Gateway College was established in 1964. The ASDN program options are highly ranked in excellence as evidenced by a consistent state board passing rate above state and/or national levels for over five years.

The graduates are widely recruited and consistently demonstrate a strong clinical competence. Many of the area hospitals are predominately staffed by these graduates. The experienced nursing faculty is well prepared both academically and clinically. Students receive individual guidance in the simulated lab of the Medical Technology Building along with small group supervision in clinical facilities.
Upon successful completion of the program, the student receives an Associate in Science Degree in Nursing. Graduates of the program are qualified to enter a variety of careers as staff nurses in acute care settings, home health centers or nursing homes.

Advancement in nursing education to Bachelor Degrees is encouraged through RN to BSN programs. The Florida Gateway College graduates have demonstrated consistent success with advancement through these programs.
It is highly recommended that students plan to work no more than twenty hours a week during the time he/she is completing the requirements for the Nursing program.
All students who graduate from a nursing program and wish to sit for the examination in Florida for the Registered Nurse will be reviewed in accordance to state law Chapter 464.008 and 464.018 by Florida State Board of Nursing. Applicants are required to provide related information of past convictions or no contest pleas-regardless of adjudication for any offense other than minor traffic violations. Arrest and court records must be sent to the board. Your application will not be considered complete until these records are provided.
A criminal records search is conducted on all applicants. Any misrepresentation can result in delay or refusal of license. The Board has the authority to withhold licensing as a result of their investigation.
